This is a really interesting video of two Australian guys fishing for Longtail Tuna using a DJI Phantom 3 drone.
Watch how they attach the fishing line to the drone, and when the tuna goes for the baby octopus bait the force detaches the line from the drone. They continue to film the tuna below with the drone as they reel the tuna in from the beach.
They seem to have coined the phrase "Drone Fishing".
This is another use for drones that will spark a lingering debate, is it cheating, should it be allowed.
In Australia they have a liberal approach to drone flying. Already in the U.S. various States are legislating against using drones for fishing.
I wonder what reaction we will get to possible drone fishing in the UK.
