With this latest drone product launch DJI has focused on businesses, governments, educators and other professionals. DJI describe the Mavic 2 Enterprise as a “reliable everyday tool that helps professionals do their work better.
The Mavic 2 Enterprise is a Mavic 2 Zoom drone with accessories. It has been designed to extend user capability during critical operations, like firefighting, emergency response, law enforcement, and infrastructure aerial inspections.
The launch video at the end of this article is pushing the hype of “Destined to Serve” for aerial photography.
President of DJI, Roger Luo, said: “With the Mavic 2 Enterprise, DJI has created a drone that makes powerful technology accessible to every enterprise and revolutionises how they do their work.”
He added: “Mavic 2 Enterprise is the world’s most capable commercial drone, purpose-built to serve the operational needs of our industry partners as well as companies that are just now preparing to embrace the benefits of drone technology. DJI’s hardware and software set the standard for aerial innovation around the globe, and Mavic 2 Enterprise is the most compact, powerful, reliable and safe tool to help professionals integrate drones into their operations.”
In a bid to improve the ability of drones to identify and inspect dangerous areas, the on-board camera extends the pilot’s sense of sight with a 2x optical and 3x digital zoom capability. This is a feature designed with the hope of assisting emergency services across the globe.
The Mavic 2 Enterprise Accessories
These include a spotlight for search and rescue missions in low-light areas. A loudspeaker for providing communication to individuals in remote locations. A light beacon which, designed to meet the US – FAA night waiver standards, features a flashing strobe to help with airspace awareness.
These Mavic 2 Enterprise accessories are mounted via an extended mounting port on the top of the Mavic 2 Enterprise.
The spotlight angle can only be set manually before flight, and is capable of assisting the onboard camera to shoot clearly at around 30 meters away.
The communications distance of the loudspeaker is up to 40 meters in normal conditions. The speaker can:
1.Play voice messages that are pre-recorded with the DJI Pilot app.
2.Transmit real-time voice call-outs on the ground.
The Light Beacon is visible up to approximately 5 kilometres in general conditions.
Avoid hazards in the sky with DJI AirSense, which enhances your airspace safety by giving you instant real-time positioning alerts using an ADS-B receiver for advisory traffic information from nearby manned aircraft.
It is also compatible with the DJI Pilot mobile app which is password protected and stored on a 24 GB internal storage. The DJI Pilot app was launched in Oct 2017 after the US army banned the use of DJI Drones.
It is effectively a “local data mode” not connected to the internet to give a layer of security for public and private organisations that may need to protect sensitive operations data. But the password does not apply to the SD card it only works on the 24GB onboard storage.
